Meldrum is delighted to announce that Drew Fleming has re-joined our family business as Group Health and Safety Advisor.
Drew, who has almost a decade of experience within the construction industry, specifically in health and safety advisory, previously worked with us for two years before moving onto a new opportunity.
Drew, from Perth, brings a wealth of experience to our business, with previous employment for both Kilmac and Tayside Contracts as a Civil Engineer.
The appointment of a dedicated Health and Safety advisor reconfirms Meldrum’s commitment to health and safety.
Above all, Drew’s role is to ensure the health and safety of all our employees and subcontractors on our sites, but his other roles and responsibilities include:
- Ensuring our sites are safe and secure
- Maintaining and Delivering Training and upskilling to our team
- Maintaining our high health and safety standards
- Ensuring that Meldrum is complying with current and new Government legislation
- Assisting with Tenders
We sat down with Drew for a quick Q&A:
Why did you choose to re-join Meldrum?
It was a no brainer really. Meldrum was the only construction company that I would choose to work for. It’s a great place to work – the team, the projects and the fact that it’s a local family business – I thoroughly enjoyed my time here last time also.
What do you feel you will bring to the team?
I have a lot of experience having worked for a few construction companies in different sectors, so I will bring fresh ideas and knowledge to the table. I’m also a people person, a team player and have a can-do attitude.
What do you hope to achieve?
I hope to achieve continuous improvements in all of our business practices, by refreshing current procedures and protocols, to ultimately make the business more efficient and to maintain our already high standards of health and safety.
Mike Guild, Director of Surveying and Estimating, commented, “Delighted to have Drew back on board with us. He will continue to develop our training, health & safety standards and procedures, allowing our growth to continue and ultimately fulfilling our future business objectives.”
