Extension & Renovation of Derelict Country House

With Lockdown measures being reduced recently, our team was able to return to site and complete the finishing touches of an exciting extension and renovation project in Highland Perthshire.

This project involved the complete renovation and alteration of an existing derelict building shell and the construction of a new two-storey extension.

The works also included the building of an external double garage, storeroom and a dog kennel block.

The project required a new spring-fed water supply and pump house install.

A large structural opening was formed in the existing stone walls and we installed structural steelwork.

External hard landscaping and a septic tank drainage were also installed.

The existing stone walls were repaired and repointed using traditional lime and stone craftsmanship

Finally, our team oversaw internal works, including plastering, painting, electrical and plumbing installations.

As always, Meldrum fully project managed the entire works, liaising with our trusted subcontractors to deliver a high-quality project, on time and to budget.

Mike Cunningham, Contract Manager commented, “Another exciting house extension project to be involved with. What a view from the upstairs balcony. We are proud to fully project manage extension projects like this one, by working collaboratively with our trusted subcontractors”

The client’s representatives, Galbraith, have expressed their appreciation of this finished project. This is one of several projects Meldrum has completed for Galbraith in recent years.
